What a pleasant surprise! My wife and I had never been to Drumnadrochit before and this hotel was a random choice, more or less. We'll know where to go not just in Drumnadrochit, but also in the whole Loch Ness area now. The staff in both the hotel and restaurant were helpful and charming, mixing local knowledge with international experience and great language skills, which makes it easier for foreign tourists. The restaurant is designed in a surprisingly tasteful "Highland Fantasia" style and the food is excellent. My wife said it was the best Scottish food she had ever had! (We had the haddock and the salmon.) Moreover, the owner circulated and chatted to the guests, ensuring everyone was having a good time: this prompted other people to become sociable too. A nice, big fireplace helped that too. The restaurant should be open for lunch too, providing they can persuade the same pro chef! The rooms and corridors have a pleasantly vintage B&B air, but with comfy. Modern beds. I can't recommend this place enough!

A traditional Highland hotel which is in need of a makeover. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The best part was the breakfast in the morning. Just perfect!!!

Recently stayed here for 2 nights for a milestone birthday of mine. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. It is a very traditional Highland hotel, with a true and genuine Highland welcome. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. We were welcomed by the general manager, Leanne, who couldn't do enough for us. She was very knowledgeable about the hotel and surrounding area. After she booked us in, she escorted us to our room and explained the facilities to us. Our room had a 'veranda', which overlooked the grounds. This was nice, as we were able to sit out in the fresh air but still had the amenities of our room at hand. We went down for dinner in the evening to the bar/restaurant. The a la carte menu was wonderful, and all the dishes sounded so delicious, it was so hard to choose which ones to have. I have dined in several hotel restaurants over the years, but wow! The food was absolutely amazing, the best I've ever had by a mile! After we had finished, the chef came out to see us and asked if we had enjoyed our meal, and our stay in general. That was a first for me. Such a nice touch. A while later the owners of the hotel came over and greeted us and introduced themselves. Donald and Gillian Skinner. Such a lovely couple who were genuinely interested if we were enjoying our stay. We had a good conversation with them, and were told all about the history of the hotel and it was very interesting indeed. In the morning we went down for breakfast. Again, we were not dissapointed. We had a buffet style full scotch breakfast. I have to say, the bacon and sausages were the tastiest ever! It was a nice touch to have haggis with it too. Overall it was a wonderful 2 days and I cannot recommend The Loch Ness Lodge Hotel enough. If you want a relaxing time in a traditional Highland hotel surrounded by beautiful scenery, then this is the place for you! 10/10. Would definitely stay here again.

Firstly, I’d like to say that this isn’t your average hotel. It’s got a ton of character and soul to it. The rooms have actual keys, there’s obvious history to the building, and I love all the plaid. It feels… it feels kind of like a lodge. It’s very nice. There’s a great breakfast, a common room that is full of comfortable couches and a lovely fire, and access to the adjoining bar where even more comfortable seating (and alcohol) awaits. The staff was very courteous and helpful. When we checked in, a heater was already going in our (massive) room and that was very nice since it was freezing outside. Then, the next day, my kids mentioned that they were pretty cold through the night and the guy who checked us in said he would fix that and put a second heater in their room. I loved it. The whole building was comfortable and you can’t beat the location if you’re visiting for Loch Ness matters since it’s right next to the museum (as well as a distillery and a bunch of gift shops - one of which has a pretty impressive selection of Scottish Whisky). Overall I really enjoyed my stay here and would absolutely revisit if given the chance. If you are coming, you should ask for room 5. It’s on the top floor and overlooks the village, the hills, the river, and livestock. It’s very picturesque.

We have had a wonderful stay. We arrived to the news that there was limited water through no fault of the hotel. A local problem. Manager Leanne calmly dealt with a very difficult situation, made us very comfortable and welcome. This lady needs a bonus for the day from hell!

This may be a three star hotel, but the food is five star and we had a lovely stay. The hotel was running on few staff, who would appear at the front desk, bar and even adjoining shop. They were pleasant and friendly, and the slower pace of everything was welcome. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, a nice view out front too. Bathroom was well fitted and everything routinely replaced, such as coffee sachets and teabags in the room. The lounge has a log fire and really comfortable chairs, as does the bar area in the adjoining restaurant. No alcohol free beers/lager but lots of other drinks. Just get the owner's attention for service, or one of the multipurpose staff. Food was excellent, the venison especially nice. A nice menu including vegetarian haggis! Breakfast buffet was plentiful too, the tasty well cooked sausages were really nice. Nessieland and the gift shop are at the end of the car park, and although we didn't go in the attraction, the shop was good. Only a short walk to the pub, or a short drive to Co-op, fish and chips or pizza. Loch Ness Centre just next to this is well worth a visit. Quiet, relaxing and just what we needed as a base for a few days. Not perfect but good value and would certainly visit again.

First of all this is a late review, that has no baring on our experience! I booked afternoon tea for my for Mother’s Day on the 15th of March 2025. This was our first experience of Loch Ness Lodge Hotel and the whole family have been talking about it since. My family and I have been searching for a place like this to celebrate occasions for a long time now and we we have certainly found it. A beautiful setting, with stunning views, spectacular food and first class service! It is rare to experience service as we did within Inverness, the staff were accommodating and professional and did a great job of making us feel special. The general manager was kind enough to show us some of the rooms during our visit, which were beautifully done. We look forward to staying here in the future and will be recommending Loch Ness Lodge to any visitors from now on!

We stayed for one night during our Scotland family trip. We were welcomed by a lady who is the general manager, she was very helpful and kind. The place design is like traveling in time (but clean and cozy) what for us a was a stunning and wonderful experience.
